Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a high-strength hypereutectic spheroidal graphite cast iron by contaning specific ratios of C, Ti and Mg in blast furnace molten iron. CONSTITUTION: A spheroidizing agent contg. ≥4.0wt% Mg, for example, Fe-Si- Mg, or Fe-Si-Mg-Re is added to blast furnace molten iron contg. 4.2W5.0wt% C, and 0.040W0.150wt% Ti, so that the residual Mg in the material is kept at 0.005W 0.020wt%.
